Lo studio del termine euaggelion è stato condotto nell’ambito di un modello diacronico che ha impedito di cogliere chiaramente i vari significati che i primi discepoli di Gesù diedero a tale parola. Tuttavia, i primi scritti cristiani testimoniano che questi diversi significati coesistettero fino alla metà del II secolo. Questo studio identifica due traiettorie presenti in questi scritti e propone una spiegazione dei significati che la parola euaggelion ha acquisito in esse, osservando che questi due significati sorsero in due contesti diversi (la terra d’Israele e la diaspora), i quali determinarono la comprensione di tale parola chiave del «socioletto» cristiano.

The study of the term euaggelion has been conducted in the framework of a diachronic model that has prevented to perceive clearly the various meanings that the first disciples of Jesus gave to this word. However, the early Christian writings testify that these different meanings coexisted until the mid-second century. This study identifies two trajectories reflected in these writings and proposes an explanation of the meanings that the word euaggelion acquired in them noting that they arose in a different context (the Land of Israel and the Diaspora), which determined the understanding of this keyword of the Christian «sociolect».
